About Eric Beynon

For over 20 years Eric has operated at the nexus of industry, government, and NGO interaction with a track record of leading diverse players to collaborate on transformative projects.
Eric was a principal architect of the global NRG COSIA Carbon XPRIZE competition, focused on reimagining carbon and catalyzing a new CO2 use industry. Having worked closely with the XPRIZE Foundation’s Board, Eric brought together nine energy multinationals and three governments to sponsor and support the competition with over US$80 million deployed.
Since 2012 Eric has worked to achieve impact through innovation by deploying incentive prize competitions and by utilizing collaboration processes such as the Challenge Dialogue System®. In conjunction, Eric has advanced novel early-stage financing and commercialization opportunities.
Previously Eric worked as the central organizer of global business’ engagement with the United Nations on all aspects of sustainable development – from climate change to development to food. Eric also spent several years in international finance with Credit Suisse in Zurich, Switzerland and Paris, France.
Eric is a 2018 Clean 50 honoree in the category of Angels: Investors & Eco System Support. He has an undergraduate business degree from Canada’s Queen’s University and an M.B.A. from the Schulich School of Business at York University. He has lived and worked in five countries and independently traveled to over 60.
